Google Unveils Pixel 10 Series with Tensor G5 Chip, Boosting On-Device AI Capabilities
Google's latest Pixel 10 lineup debuts with the in-house Tensor G5 processor, manufactured by TSMC using 3nm technology. The chip delivers a 34% CPU performance uplift through an octa-core architecture optimized for thermal efficiency. Advanced memory and storage configurations (LPDDR5X + UFS 4.0) enable smoother multitasking, while a new Image Signal Processor enhances low-light videography with 10-bit color depth support.
The Tensor G5 powers over 20 native AI features, including the context-aware Magic Cue and DeepMind's Gemini Nano model—now 2.6x faster than previous iterations. This on-device processing paradigm eliminates cloud dependencies for tasks like real-time voice translation. Four models comprise the Pixel 10 family, though Google withheld specific pricing and availability details during the announcement.
